Best Farming Spot
  • Radiant Garden – Cave of Remembrance: Depths

The only place to farm Remembrance Shards is in the Cave of Remembrance in Radiant Garden.

The entrance to the cave unlocks near the Postern save point after the Heartless Invasion and meeting Sephiroth for the first time.

The first area of the Cave is the Depths, and in here you’ll find all three heartless that can drop Shards. You’ll need High Jump LV2, which you obtain by leveling Valor Form to level 3.

The Cave of Remembrance can be tricky, so let’s take a closer look at how to effectively survive and get your Shards.

Cave of Remembrance: Depths

The Depths / KH2FM
The Depths

No joke: this place is tough.

If you enter here around when it first opens up, the odds of getting creamed are pretty good.

The enemies here are fast and hit hard. Level 50 or above is recommended to avoid getting one-hit KO’d.

Also, you’ll need a lot of your Limit Form movement abilities to get through here.

Getting to the Depths alone requires a LV2 High Jump, which you can get via leveling the Valor Form to level 3.

Of the enemies that drop Shards, Befuddlers are the least threatening.

You can use their Reaction Command to latch on and deal decent AOE damage and they usually perish in a few good keyblade swings. They’re also pretty susceptible to Magnet spells. These guys aren’t your biggest concern.

Iron Hammer / KH2FM
Iron Hammer.

Iron Hammers can cause a lot of damage in a very short amount of time.

Not only does their face-slam attack knock Sora into the air, it hurts. What’s worse is that if you get knocked up you’re open to attacks from every other Heartless around–and they’re usually a lot.

Staying in the air around the Iron Hammers is probably your best bet and using spells like Magnet to keep them there with you is a tremendous boon.

Picking your strikes and staying away is also a good rule of thumb.

They’re kind of cute / KH2FM
They’re kind of cute.

Finally, you’ve got Silent Launchers to deal with and they are the creme de la creme of annoying.

They love to stay as far away as possible and drop high-damage mortar shells onto Sora and his team.

If you spot a Silent Launcher pop up in a group, try to make it your priority, or else you risk being nuked to the game over screen.

Using Remembrance Shards

A part of the family / KH2FM
A part of the family!

You’ll only need 20 Shards to make one of everything that requires them, but, one of those items is the Lucky Ring. So the odds of you wanting to collect more is pretty high.

The Lucky Ring increases the chance of an enemy dropping items.

It is a vital piece of kit for any treasure hunter while you’re farming for other synthesis material drops. The Lucky Ring alone makes farming Remembrance materials worth it.

Also, farming anything Remembrance-related is also worth a lot of EXP, so you can’t lose!
