After the events of KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Aqua found herself trapped in the Realm of Darkness. She wanders the Dark World search for a way back to the Realm of Light, fighting wave after endless wave of Heartless. On her travels, she visits fragments of the many worlds that have fallen into darkness, and encounters phantoms of herself and her friends — illusions meant to drag her further into the darkness. | King of Disney Castle and a powerful Keyblade Master! Mickey appears to Aqua in the Realm of Darkness in her time of need. While searching for the Dark World's Keyblade to close the Door to Darkness, Mickey comes across Aqua and fights by her side. The two of them locate the Dark World's Keyblade, but in the process, Aqua is swept away by a swarm of Heartless, leaving Mickey unable to rescue her. | The physical manifestation of all of Aqua's fears and self-doubt. Phantom Aqua appears to Aqua in The World Within, tormenting her with all of her past failings to save her friends.
