Power Gems
Dropped By
  • Aerial Knocker (8%)
  • Shaman (10%)
Best Farming Spot
  • The Pride Lands

The best way to farm Power Gems is to head to the Pride Lands and fight both Aerial Knockers and Shaman.

These can be found in most areas of the world, so what we’ve outlined below is a solid route that’ll let you fight between five and ten of each foe for drops.

Step 1: Enter the world at the Oasis save point.

Step 2: Fight through the Jungle. You’ll encounter a handful of Aerial Knockers here.

Step 3: The Wastelands are next and full of Shaman. Exit to…

Step 4: Wildebeest Valley has more Shaman than Aerial Knockers, but that’s cool. Next area is…

Step 5: Savannah. There’s only a few desired enemies here. Just barrel on through to Pride Rock.

Step 6: Use the save point in the Stone Hollow to return to the world map and do the farming route all again.

The odds of getting at least one Power Gem per run are pretty good. And even if you don’t, it’s super easy to regroup and try again (and you’ll get a ton of EXP besides).

Aerial Knockers

Knock it off / KH2FM
Knock it off!

It’s a bird with boxing gloves.

Besides being a very accurate depiction of African wildlife, the Aerial Knocker isn’t anything too special. They attack with quick punches and like to dodge, both things expected of a boxer bird.

One-on-one they’re not even worth mentioning: just swat them with your keyblade.

When multiple show up, well, that’s when things might get sticky.

It’s not uncommon for a few Aerial Knockers to gang up and hit Sora multiple times, dealing significant damage.

Get the Blows / KH2FM
Get the Blows!

If you can catch it, using the Reaction Command ‘Rapid Blow’ is a sure-fire way to end the fight. It’s easy to miss, though and most of the time will be gone before you even realize it was there.

Your best bet is to be offensive with Magnet spells or just getting away from the group to lure them into a much more favorable one-on-one.

They should also be your first priority, above the other Heartless that tend to appear with them.

Shaman

Both varieties of Shaman / KH2FM
Both varieties of Shaman.

Shaman are the biggest threat of the Pride Lands Heartless roster.

They have erratic movement and two of the most annoying, damaging attacks in the place.

They can compact themselves into the mask and come chasing.

You can’t really damage them when they’re like this, so you’ll have to wait them out. This involves a lot of jumping and/or rolling.

The other annoying thing they do is cast a ring of flames around Sora.

This follows him 1:1 and can only be deferred by using the Reaction Command that pops up. This command comes up fast and goes away just as quick so you gotta stay on top of it.

Dispel the Curse / KH2FM
Dispel the Curse!

It’s easy to lose track of the fire in the heat of battle, but if you don’t focus on it you’ll find yourself taking a lot of damage.

It’s best to focus full fire on the Shamans ASAP.

Occasionally you’ll come across a Shaman riding a Living Bone Heartless. These Shaman can drop Power Gems but are much more difficult.

Their fire ring attack can drop even high-level players–be careful!

In this situation, a good, reflexive, offense is the best defense.

Using Power Gems

The Mage’s Earring! Just one, though / KH2FM
The Mage’s Earring! Just one, though.

The good news here is that you only need 2 Power Gems to make one of everything that requires them.

The accessories they’re used to make are just fine, but you’ll find that they’re probably just going to be made to help your Moogle level up.
