Mythril Stones
Dropped By Pot Scorpion (10%/35%)
Best Farming Spot Agrabah – Palace Gates

The only way to get Mythril Stones is by defeating the Pot Scorpion in Agrabah.

Simply defeating the ceramic crawler will get you a 10% chance at a Stone, but if you can break all the other pots surrounding the scorpion before engaging with it, this drop rate boosts up to a 35% chance.

The Pot Scorpion can be found at Agrabah’s Palace Gates. You’ll know you’ve got it when you enter the area and see nothing but 12 pots on the ground (see the screenshot below).

One of them contains the scorpion.

The Pot Scorpion in Hiding / KH1.5
The Pot Scorpion in Hiding

This is one of the new special Heartless introduced in the Final Mix version of the game. It has a very particular method of fighting and requires practice. Once you beat it, you have to leave the world (board your Gummi Ship) in order to have it reappear.

When you first enter a Pot Scorpion-positive Palace Grounds, you’ll see 12 conspicuous pots in four rows of three. One of these pots is concealing your Mythril Stone mark and you’ll have to suss out which one.

Attacking the pot with the scorpion in it will not only wake it up and start the fight, but will also destroy the rest of the pots.

If you want a shot at an additional Mythril Stone and a higher drop rate, then you’ll want to make waking the Scorp the last thing you do.

There’s a really simple way to determine which pot is which:

The pot with the scorpion won’t move when you run into it.

If you can move a pot by running into it, then that pot is safe to break. Save the unmovable pot for last!

Tip: You have to be pretty careful when swinging to break empty pots. Sora has a tendency to swing wide and there’s nothing more frustrating than accidentally waking up the Pot Scorpion and losing your chance at an additional prize.

Make your life easier by finding the unmovable pot first and then pushing all the others away from it before going ham.

Now–let’s talk about battling the bug.

Was it always a pot, or a scorpion who found a shell? / KH1.5
Was it always a pot, or a scorpion who found a shell?

Once the Pot Scorpion wakes up, it’ll attack pretty relentlessly and all your attacks will bounce right off.

You’ll have to use the Guard ability to perfectly parry one of the Scorpion’s attacks. Doing so will knock it on its back and open it up to as much damage as you can deal before it recovers.

You have to do this while also dodging an onslaught of acid drops both falling from the sky and puddled on the ground.

It’s a lot to take in at first, but watching Sora’s feet and constantly dodge rolling helps a lot to avoid both.

The timing for the guard is defo a learned skill, and it’s a little bit different than most other Heartless attacks.

Don’t be too discouraged if it takes you a bit to get it down. You’ll be knocking that scorpio on its back before you know it!

Using Mythril Stones

Mythril makes Mythril, Kupothril / KH1.5
Mythril makes Mythril, Kupothril.

You’ll need 8 Mythril Stones to make one of everything that requires them.

It’s not too taxing a farm, really.

The Pot Scorpion is a fairly easy foe once you get the hang of it. Just pay attention (and sit closer to your TV, that helps).
