Lucid Gems
Dropped By
  • Wight Knights (6%)
  • Gargoyles (6%)
  • White Mushrooms (10%)
Best Farming Spot
  • Halloween Town — Bridge and Manor Ruins
Bambi Drop Location
  • Monstro

The best way to farm Lucid Gems is to head to Halloween Town and fight Wight Knights and Gargoyles. Each of them have a 6% drop rate (12% with three Lucky Strike abilities).

These haunted heartless appear in all the zones of Halloween Town, but the best spots are the Bridge area before Oogie-Boogie’s Manor, and the Manor Ruins themselves.

Since you need access to the Manor Ruins for this farming route, you should clear the world before settling in for farming.

Note: The odds of running into the Chimera heartless in the Manor Ruins area is pretty good. The Chimera likes to continually spawn both Gargoyles and Wight Knights. So, if you can stand having the Chimera around, then it’s a win/win!

It’s also super helpful if you equip the Encounter Up ability. This makes it so enemies respawn when going one area away, instead of the usual two. You can get Encounter Up by synthesizing 12 unique items at the Moogle Shop.

Gargoyles and Wight Knights

The detail in their wraps is surprisingly high-def

The mummy-like monstrosities known as Wight Knights aren’t too much of a threat. The biggest challenge they present is their numbers.

They always appear in groups of three or more and often in multiple packs.

Big, sweeping keyblades like the Metal Chocobo help to thin their numbers.

But if you’re more a magical kind of fella, then Thunder and Gravity will do the trick.

It’s surprisingly easy to get caught in a group stunlock. One Wight getting a back attack can pinball Sora into another. Just stay on your toes and try to stay outside the group.

You go, Gargoyle! / Kingdom Hearts 1.5
You go, Gargoyle!

Gargoyles are kind of the opposite.

They don’t appear in quite as high a number, but like to hit harder and are beefier to boot.

Being a flying enemy, you can bet your bottom munny that they’re gonna swoop all around and shoot things at Sora from a distance.

Magic isn’t quite as effective against these guys. So your best bet is to high-jump up to them and meet them on their terms with a good, strong keyblade.

Gargoyles also really love to be sneaky… and with how janky the camera can be, it’s easy to lose track of them and leave yourself open to a sneak attack.

Combat this by either locking on (though doing this may leave you open to the other non-locked-on enemies) or by constantly being on the move and staying just outside the group.

White Mushrooms

Don’t think about it too much

Another way to get Lucid Gems is by playing the White Mushroom Minigame.

There are a couple of roadblocks to getting Gems this way:

First, you have to find the right Mushrooms. Only White Mushrooms in Agrabah’s Cave of Wonders’ Treasure Room can drop Lucid Gems.

Second, you have to cast Gravity on them three times in order to get a shot at a gem.

This means waiting until they do their floating animation three times. You only get a shot at a Lucid Gem when it’s Gravity three times in a row.

Even after all that, you only have a 10% chance of a Lucid Gem dropping.

This is fine if you’re also hunting for Mystery Goo, but using White Mushrooms as a sole source of Lucid Gems isn’t efficient.

Bambi (Monstro)

It’s Bambi!

The Prince of the Forest is another option to get Lucid Gems, though it requires even more effort.

Bambi has a chance to give up a Gem only in Monstro after filling up his bar three times.

There’s a 30% chance he’ll drop a Gem after that, which sounds pretty good, but a well-run farm in Halloween Town has much better odds due to the sheer speed of it. Bambi is a safer option, but much slower than even dealing with Mushrooms.
