The only two ways to obtain Mythril Shards is by either finding them in chests scattered around the worlds in KH2, or by making them at a Moogle synthesis shop.
You’ll need about 14 Mythril Gems in order to make one of everything that requires them from all synthesis recipes.

Making Mythril Gems via Synthesis

To synthesize Mythril Gems you’ll need a few other materials, but they’re fairly simple to farm.
Below we’ll share where to best find each heartless/nobody to farm for each of the four required materials in this recipe.
Dense Gems drop from Samurai Nobody. The best place to farm them is in the Mansion: Basement Hall in Twilight Town.
Dense Crystals are dropped by Berserkers. They can be farmed in The World that Never Was.
Twilight Gems are dropped by Assassins. They can be farmed at the Hall of Empty Melodies in The World that Never Was.
Twilight Crystals are dropped by Sorcerers. Like most other nobodies, the Sorcerers can be found at TWTNW, specifically at the Naught’s Skyway area.
Using Mythril Gems
You’ll need about 14 Mythril Gems to make one of everything that requires them. This number can fluctuate depending on your use of Energy Stones and your Moogle’s level (both affect item usage).
Both AP and Magic Boosts are super helpful so maybe you’ll want more?
Up to you, but they’re definitely worth the time to farm.
