Twilight Gem
Dropped By Assassins (12%)
Best Farming Spot The World that Never Was – Hall of Empty Melodies

The best place to farm Twilight Gems is in the Hall of Empty Melodies in the final dungeon. You’ll fight four Assassins here (the only enemy that drops the Gems) and there’s a save point right nearby.

Here’s the ideal farming route:

Enter the world from the Proof of Existence save point and head backwards down the long hall to the Hall of Empty Melodies. Farm the Assassins and then turn right around and use the save point to reset it all.

Easy-peasy.

Now, let’s discuss battle tactics for these Assassin Nobodies.

Assassins

Four Assassins ready to strike / KH2FM
Four Assassins ready to strike.

Assassins are the sneakiest Nobodies.

They spend a lot of their time underground.

When they’re submerged, they can’t be damaged. You have to wait until they attack before you can do the same.

The best way to handle them is to get good with either Guard or Reflect.

Their primary attack is to pop up and swing wildly (which is pretty un-assassin like, but what do I know). If you can successfully guard or Reflect any of these attacks the Assassin will be stunned and freed up to be destroyed.

Assassins don’t do much else.

Their danger lies in their numbers.

If you get surrounded when they’re underground, you might have a bad time in a few seconds when they all come back up to ravage you.

Reflect is better in this situation, as it protects you from all sides.

The Fail-Safe in Action / KH2FM
The Fail-Safe in Action.

If you can catch the Assassin’s Reaction Command, Fail-Safe, you can just about end the fight.

This only pops when their HP is around half.

This Command has Sora grab the Assassin, jump, and slam the dude into the ground, creating an AOE explosion that deals a lot of damage.

Fail-Safe’s explosion also damages Assassins that are underground, so you really can clean up the whole lot if you catch the command.

Using Twilight Gems

Gems for Gems, Kupo / KH2FM
Gems for Gems, Kupo!

You’ll need 31 Twilight Gems to not only make one of everything that requires them, but to also make the many Mythril goods you’ll need to make everything else.

Honestly, this isn’t as bad as it sounds.

Assassins are among the easier Nobodies and it’s simple to farm them.
