Best Farming Spot
  • Twilight Town – Moon Chamber

The best way to farm Twilight Shards is to head to the top of Yen Sid’s Tower in Twilight Town and fight Gamblers.

Enter the Moon Chamber to fight Gamblers / KH2FM
Enter the Moon Chamber to fight Gamblers.

Here’s the best farming route:

Enter the world from the Sorcerer’s Loft save point and head down. Glide past the one flight of stairs to the Moon Chamber, where you’ll find four Gamblers. Defeat them, hopefully get a drop or two, and then turn tail back to the save point to try again.

Note: Dusks also drop Shards, and they do appear all over the place, but fighting this group of Gamblers is much more reliable and time-efficient. Plus, the drop rate is higher.

Gamblers

These guys know when to fold them / KH2FM
These guys know when to fold them.

As the name suggests, these Nobodies love playing the odds.

Rather, they like making you play the odds. They attack with either cards, dice, or their own weird stretchy bodies.

Their normal attacks really aren’t too bad, easy to read and block. In fact, you can just attack them through their attacks. They’re fast, but don’t have much defense.

Overall, Gambler’s aren’t a tough enemy.

If you want to see everything they can do though, you can play their games.

Stop them and roll them / KH2FM
Stop them and roll them!

They have two Reaction Commands: Draw Card and Stop Dice.

Both involve watching a sequence and selecting the right choice on the command menu.

Begin the game and choose correctly / KH2FM
Begin the game and choose correctly!

If you win the game(s), you deal significant damage to the Gambler. Lose…well, don’t lose.

If you’re not good at this kind of thing, it’s easy to avoid playing. You can easily deal with Gamblers just by using physical attacks.

Don’t. Lose. / KH2FM
Don’t. Lose.

Dusks

They’re just weird little dudes / KH2FM
They’re just weird little dudes.

Dusks are the Shadows of the Nobody gang. That is to say, they’re basic. You’ve been fighting these guys since the beginning.

They move really fast, but don’t have a lot of HP or defense.

It’s easy to plow through them using just keyblade swings. Thunder and Magnet magic makes it even easier. You can also utilize their Reaction Command, Reversal, to slide around to their backside and give them what-for.

Dusks are so minor, there’s not much to even say about them. Just crush them!

Using Twilight Shards

You’re a King, Kupo / KH2FM
You’re a King, Kupo!

You’re gonna need a lot of Shards for synthesis in KH2 – actually you’ll need about 110 of them. This includes not only making one of everything, but also making multiple Mythril items, which are key ingredients in many other recipes.

It’s not that bad though.

It’s easy to grind Gamblers and the drop rate is pretty good. You got this!
