Tranquility Items (Shards, Stones, Gems, Crystals)
Dropped By
  • All Mushroom XIII members
Best Farming Spot
  • Mushroom V – Agrabah: Cave of Wonders: Treasure Room
  • Mushroom IV – Land of Dragons: Palace Gate

The best places for farm for Tranquility items are in the Cave of Wonders and Land of Dragons, fighting Mushrooms V and IV respectively. They are part of the Mushroom XIII Heartless, and while all of the Mushroom XIII members can drop these Tranquility items, Mushrooms V and IV are the easiest to farm.

  • Mushroom V requires you to defeat it in under 5 seconds
  • Mushroom IV requires you defeat 85+ of its many clones

Both of these fights can be trivialized with Drive Forms and good equipment setups. These are easily the two simplest Mushroom fights to farm.

There are a total of 4 different Tranquility items that you’ll be farming:

  • Tranquility Shards
  • Tranquility Stones
  • Tranquility Gems
  • Tranquility Crystals

All of these items can all be obtained from any of the Mushroom XIII.

These special Mushroom foes can be found scattered throughout the many worlds and each have very specific requirements in order to be defeated.

Here’s a list of all the Mushrooms and their requirements to have at least a 90% chance of getting all types of Tranquility Items.

All Mushroom XIII Locations

The Whole Mushroom Cast / KH2FM
The Whole Mushroom Cast
Mushroom Location Requirements
Mushroom I The World That Never Was – Memory’s Skyscraper Hit the Mushroom between 90-100 times.
Mushroom II Halloween Town – Christmas Tree Plaza Dodge between 95-100 of its attacks.
Mushroom III Beast’s Castle – Bridge Collect between 490-500 of the items it drops.
Mushroom IV Land of Dragons – Palace Gate Defeat between 85-100 clones.
Mushroom V Agrabah – Treasure Room Defeat the Mushroom in under 5 seconds.
Mushroom VI Olympus – Underworld: Atrium Defeat all the clones in under 40 seconds.
Mushroom VII Twilight Town – Tunnelway Defeat the Mushroom in under 10 seconds.
Mushroom VIII Twilight Town – Tower Entrance Juggle the Mushroom between 85-100 times.
Mushroom IX Radiant Garden – Castle Gate Hit the Mushroom between 90-100 times without stopping.
Mushroom X Port Royal – Isla de Muerta: Moonlight Nook Defeat the correct Mushroom in under 40 seconds.
Mushroom XI Timeless River – Waterway Deplete the Mushroom’s hit counter in under 17 seconds
Mushroom XII Twilight Town – Mansion Entrance Defeat between 40-50 Mushrooms before time runs out.
Mushroom XIII Radiant Garden – Great Maw Clear all 12 previous Mushrooms

The better you do at their specific fights, the higher your odds are of earning Tranquility items.

Since there are 13 of them, we won’t be going over all of them here (you think I’m made of time?).

But let’s discuss the two best Mushrooms for farming in further detail.

Mushroom V Strategy

Mushroom V / KH2FM
Mushroom V

Mushroom V (5) can be found in the Cave of Wonders Treasure Room.

His gimmick is that he doesn’t attack, but regenerates health at a tremendous speed.

Your goal is to beat him as fast as possible.

This means you’re gonna have to be strong.

Fortunately, clever use of Drive Forms and keyblades can make this a trivial matter. There’s two ways to go about this: magic or raw power.

The Beefest keyblade, Fenrir / KH2FM
The Beefest keyblade, Fenrir

Raw power will involve a strong keyblade (duh).

Stuff like Fenrir, Ultima Weapon, or Decisive Pumpkin are great for this.

Remove all your Combo Plus abilities and put on the Negative Combo.

You’ll want to get off as many finishing moves as possible.

A sub-5 victory with Limit Drive / KH2FM
A sub-5 victory with Limit Drive

Activate your Limit Drive before you turn on the Mushroom and then just go to town with physical attacks.

The Limit Form’s Zanzetsuken finisher can deal stupid amounts of damage and if your level and strength are high enough it’s really easy to get sub 5 second times.

Bond of Flame keyblade / KH2FM
Bond of Flame keyblade

If you prefer magic, then Firaga is the answer here!

Equip the Bond of Flame keyblade, which has an innate 20% boost to fire damage, as well as the Fire Boost ability for another 20%. Then finally, equip a good magic keyblade as your second with Final Form.

Switch into Final Form (which comes with another 20% fire boost) and then just start blasting.

With the increased magic of the form and the total 60% boost to Firaga, you’ll have cooked shroom in no time.

The best part of farming Mushroom V is that there’s a save point in the next room, making it really easy to exit to the world map.

Tip: If you can beat the mushroom and leave the world while still in drive form, you’ll keep your drive at max level – then you don’t ever have to worry about leaving to refill it.

Mushroom IV Strategy

Mushroom IV / KH2FM
Mushroom IV

Mushroom IV is more action-orientated than its predecessor, but can still be cheese-easy all the same.

It does require a bit more of a specific setup, but if you’re near or at the endgame, it’s no problem.

Fatal Crest Keyblade / KH2FM
Fatal Crest Keyblade

Equip the Fatal Crest keyblade (you’ll get it by winning the Goddess of Fate Cup in Olympus).

While your MP is charging with this weapon, Sora will never use a combo finisher and attack endlessly. It also increases your strength by 2 during MP charge.

Now turn on Wisdom Form and cast a Cure spell to use up all your MP.

Do this right before you activate the Mushroom.

Now all you have to do is move backwards in circles around the arena, shooting the Mushrooms.

You’ll shoot endlessly while your MP is charging, so when it restores, just cast a Cure spell to deplete it again.

An Easy 100! / KH2FM
An Easy 100!

Soon enough you’ll get comfortable with the pattern of shooting, Curing, and Dodging.

You’ll probably need your Wisdom Form at a high level to have enough time in it to get to the number of kills required.

Using Tranquility Items

The Full Bloom and Full Bloom+ / KH2FM
The Full Bloom and Full Bloom+ are AMAZING

Here’s what you’ll need out of all these synthesis materials to complete every synthesis list in KH2:

  • 14 Tranquility Shards
  • 12 Tranquility Stones
  • 12 Tranquility Gems
  • 8 Tranquility Crystals

This will let you make one of everything that requires them via synthesis.

Honestly, this isn’t a bad number at all.

These materials are easy to farm for with the right strategy. And if you’re going through the Mushrooms to clear them all, you’ll get the items you need in no time.
