Orichalcum
Dropped By Bulky Vendor
Best Farming Spot Bulky Vendor Hunting
Amount Found in Chests 11

Orichalcum can only be dropped by Bulky Vendors. While you can find 11 Orichalcum in chests all across the worlds in KH2, you’ll only be able to farm more of them from Bulky Vendor Heartless.

These rare Heartless appear in various worlds at random.

Once you find them, you can use a special Reaction Command to capture them and dispense a prize. The chance of an Orichalcum depends on how much life the Bulky has when you get it.

Let’s take a look at the details of hunting and capturing Bulky Vendors, as well as where the chests with Orichalcum can be found.

Finding Orichalcum in Chests

You can find 11 of the Ore in chests scattered all across KH2. Here’s a list of every chest in every world & the exact area of the world where each chest is located.

Bulky Vendors

They’re adorable and look like they bite / KH2FM
They’re adorable and look like they bite!

If you’ve ever been in a grocery store’s entryway then you’ve seen what these boys are based off of.

But instead of dispensing ancient gumballs or sticky hands, Bulky Vendors give out stuff like Serenity items and, more importantly, Orichalcum.

Getting an item from a Bulky Vendor is a two step process.

First, you have to find them.

If you’re just looking willy-nilly, this can be tricky. However there is a very defined method in order to get them to appear.

Here’s how it works:

Bulky Vendor RNG Setup

Load into a game from the title screen before you start. That means saving and returning to the title screen.

Then head to Land of Dragons. Enter from the Bamboo Thicket save point and out to the Encampment.

From there, head to the Checkpoint. Once you enter the Checkpoint, stop!

What you need to do is screen transition here three times.

That means seeing the black transition effect three times, so head into the Encampment, the Checkpoint, and then back into the Encampment.

Once you’ve done that, get back to the Bamboo Thicket and return to the world map.

What this does is it resets the Bulky Vendors spawn pattern. Basically this forces the game’s RNG to make you get lucky.

Now you can visit a defined list of their hotspots and just about guarantee their appearance.

Farming Spots

Here is the list in order of which worlds to visit & where to farm:

Olympus Cave of the Dead / KH2FM
Olympus Cave of the Dead

(1) Olympus Coliseum: Enter at the Underworld Entrance save point and head to the Cave of the Dead: Entrance.

If there, the Bulky Vendors will be hidden in the torches in the center.

The West Hall in Beasts Castle / KH2FM
The West Hall in Beasts Castle

(2) Beast’s Castle: Enter from the Beast’s Room save point and head out through the West Wing to the West Hall.

If there are Bulky Vendors here, they’ll be hiding in the suits of armor around the corner.

Candy Cane Lane in Halloween Town / KH2FM
Candy Cane Lane in Halloween Town

(3) Halloween Town: Enter from the Hinterlands save point and head into Candy Cane Lane.

If there are Bulky Vendors, they’ll be hiding in the carousel in the center. You’ll have to use the Reaction Command to spin in and get them out.

Bazaar area in Agrabah / KH2FM
Bazaar area in Agrabah

(4) Agrabah: Enter from the Palace Walls save point and head into the Bazaar. If there are Bulky Vendors about, then you’ll have to crush all the stalls to find them.

Note that you have to go in this particular order.

If a Vendor doesn’t spawn, simply move on to the next place on the list. If you do the loop more than twice, then save, exit to the title screen, and start again at the Land of Dragons.

How Bulky Vendors Work

The second step to getting an item from a Bulky Vendor is to actually capture them and force a prize.

You do this by approaching them and using the Reaction Command.

That's a PRIME capsule / KH2FM
That’s a PRIME capsule!

There are four levels of prize and which one you get depends on how much HP they have left (their HP reduces by itself, so it’s a waiting game).

Reaction Command HP Remaining Chance of Orichalcum
Capsule Prize 100-75% (first bar) 8%
Rare Capsule 74-50% (second bar) 10%
Limited Capsule 49-25% (third bar) 12%
Prime Capsule 25-1% (final bar) 16%

Once they enter Prime Capsule territory they start doing big jumps and being a pain to catch, so it’s best to constantly be on their butt until then. It may take some practice, but soon you’ll be swimming in goodies.

Using Orichalcum

Goofy, you king! Kupo… / KH2FM
Goofy, you king! Kupo…

You need a total of 13 Orichalcum to make one of everything that requires them. Not too bad!

And you get some pretty sweet gear out of it, too.

Goofy’s Save the King+ is his best weapon by far.
