  • Hook Bat (6%)
  • Lance Soldier (10%)
Best Farming Spot Land of Dragons – Village Cave

The best way to farm Frost Shards is to fight Hook Bats in the Land of Dragons’ Village Cave. Yes–they have a lower drop rate than Lance Soldiers. But you can fight a lot of Hook Bats in a very short time, ultimately making it much more efficient.

Here’s the best farming route:

Enter the Land of Dragons at the Village save point and then simply head to the right and into the Village Cave. Once inside, simply clear the place out.

You’ll fight 20+ Hook Bats per run and get your Frost Shards in no time.

The best part is that there’s the save point right outside for your healing needs.

Hook Bats

A Trio of Hook Bats / KH2FM
A Trio of Hook Bats!

As the bread-and-butter of your Frost Shard farming, the humble Hook Bat will provide this item in spades.

These bats stay high up most of the time, descending only to attack.

Meeting them in the air is the obvious option.

Get a good rhythm going and you can sweep through a flock in just a few swings. If you’re feeling spicy, you can even take advantage of their Reaction Command and use their titular hooks to swing around even more and clear things out faster.

Using magic, such as Thunder and / or Wisdom Form, can also make quick work of the crew.

Magnet also helps, as it brings them down to earth where they can be easily bonked.

There’s no wrong way to defeat a Hook Bat.

They are just about a filler enemy, so have fun with it!

Lance Soldier

Lance it / KH2FM
Lance it!

These dutiful dudes can be found all over, but primarily in Port Royal.

They have a little bit better chance to drop a Frost Shard, but also require a little more effort.

Lance Soldiers put up a bit more of a fight, using their aforementioned lances in creative ways. They have the typical stab and swipe attacks, of course, but also enjoy turning up the heat and going buck-wild, flying all around like an uncontrolled rocket.

Tip: If you can catch their Reaction Command when they’re wilding out, you can slam them around and pretty much instantly finish them off.

As it is with most Heartless, being as aggressive as possible is the best way to finish the fight. Don’t give them too much space, or time, to unleash their big attacks.

Using Frost Shards

Drive Recovery, Kupo / KH2FM
Drive Recovery, Kupo!

You only need 4 Frost Shards to make one of everything that requires them.

Two of these synthesis items are so-so accessories, but the other two are Drive Recovery items that will be super helpful if you’re trying to level Drive Forms, or when you’re out hunting rare heartless where you need drive transformations.
