Bright Shards
Dropped By
  • Creeper Plant (4%)
  • Hook Bat (3%)
  • Minute Bomb (3%)
  • Rabid Dog (3%)
  • Soldier (4%)
Best Farming Spot
  • Olympus – Valley of the Dead
  • Land of Dragons – Village Cave

The two best farming spots are Minute Bombs in Olympus’ Valley of the Dead and Hookbats in Land of Dragon’s Village Cave.

Both of these areas have an abundance of certain enemies that drop Bright Shards. Yes, heartless other than Minute Bombs and Hook Bats have a 1% higher drop rate, but the abundance easily makes up for that.

Below we’ll cover both areas and how to run each farming route.

Olympus – Valley of the Dead Route

Start of the farming route / KH2FM
Start of the farming route

Enter the world from the Cave of the Dead: Inner Chamber save point.

From there, head right into the Valley of the Dead. In this little area you’ll fight about a dozen or so Minute Bombs.

They’re very small, you see. They take longer than 60 seconds to explode / KH2FM

Run all the way to the top platform, then return to the save point to reset the world by going to the world map.

Minute Bombs are super easy to mop up. Use a Magnet spell or Sora’s Vicinity Blast to easily clean house. Get good and you can do a run in less than a minute.

Land of Dragons – Village Cave Route

Start of the farming route / KH2FM
Start of the farming route

Enter the world from the Village Save point and head straight forward into the Village Cave.

Run all the way to the bottom.

You’ll face three packs of Hookbats here. Once you empty the area, head on back to the save point and to the world map to do it all again.

Bats + Hooks / KH2FM
Bats + Hooks

Hookbats are easily destroyed using a Magnet spell.

Or you could just leap up and spin them away. They have a Reaction Command too that does good AOE damage, but odds are good you’ll be able to clean them out before you ever see it.

Using Bright Shards

Moogle’s Maxed, Kupo / KH2FM
Moogle’s Maxed, Kupo!

You’ll need 18 Bright Shards to make one of everything that requires them.

Bright Shards are an auxiliary ingredient that double the amount of experience your synthesis Moogle earns for that particular craft.

A few recipes use them as main ingredients, so they have a use far after you’ve maxed your Moogle. These items are some of the best, so you’re gonna want as many Bright Shards as you can get your hands on.
