Blazing Shards
Dropped By
  • Hammer Frame (10%)
  • Minute Bomb (6%)
Best Farming Spot
  • Beast’s Castle – Secret Passage

The best way to farm Blazing Shards is to fight Hammer Frames in Beast’s Castle. Enter from at the Dungeon save point and head out through the Undercroft and then to the Secret Passage.

In the Passage, you’ll fight a total of 6 Hammer Frames. Once you’ve cleared them out, return to the Dungeon save point to exit the world and reset the enemies.

This is the most efficient route to earn Blazing Shards fast – and this spawn doesn’t change, even in the endgame.

Hammer Frames

Ready to give you a good pounding

These hard-headed Heartless can be an annoyance if not dealt with quickly.

They mostly show up with Large Bodies and this pairing can lead to frustration.

Hammer Frames do big smash attacks with their faces. This is an AOE that can easily knock Sora off his feet.

If there are other enemies around, it can be easy to get pinballed around. If you’re lower-level, doing a challenge run, or are on Critical Mode, this can easily lead to a game over.

Hammer Frames are a ground-based foe, so your best bet is to stay in the air. Jumping and attacking them from overhead is the best. You can also use the Reflect spell if you’re feeling courageous, though this is the riskier option.

Minute Bombs

These little explosives can be found in either the Disney Castle or the Timeless River.

They have a lower drop rate than the Hammer Frames and can be harder to access, so they’re in second-place when it comes to farming them.

Minute Bombs do exactly what you’d expect: they explode.

You can use a Reaction Command to get out of the way, but sometimes this is a little too twitchy to catch, especially in the heat of combat.

You’ll have until the count of ten to either get clear or defeat these little guys.

When they’re not counting down, they like to launch themselves at you in a headbutt that can stun Sora and leave him open for a big blast.

Whatever you do to clear them out, do it quickly before they explode.

Using Blazing Shards

Making a Firaga Bangle / KH2FM
Making a Firaga Bangle

You only need 4 Blazing Shards total to make one of everything that requires them.

This is a low number, but the odds of you wanting more are pretty good.

Because Mega-potions are super helpful, and since they’re so easy to synthesize they can also help raise your Moogle level.
