The only way to acquire Shiny Crystals is by getting them as drops from Wizards. These pointy-hat Heartless can be found first in Hollow Bastion and then in all worlds, but the best place to farm them is at the Camp and Clearing in the Deep Jungle.
Lots of them spawn here and it’s easy to duck into the tent to make them reappear.
Wizards
With the Shiny Crystal only having a 2% drop rate, you’re probably going to be fighting a lot of Wizards.
Best brush up on how they work, then!
Wizards are pretty much what you’d expect: floating spellcasters.
They try to stay away from Sora as much as possible and can teleport to achieve this.
They cast Thunder a lot and when they do, they become invulnerable. All attacks will bounce right off, so you’ll just have to dodge around until they’re done.
- Casting Stop on them helps.
- Strength also prevails, and having a beefy keyblade will provide the means to bring them down.
- An Aero shield is also super handy, especially when there are more than one Wizard in the area.
Wizards also never really appear alone.
It’s always either with other Wiz or other enemies–specifically Darkballs and Defenders. It’s worth eliminating the Wizards first, as they’re the worst kind of support caster there is.
Using Shiny Crystals
You only need 3 Shiny Crystals to make one of everything that requires them. This is a generously low number, considering how minimal the drop rate is. Count your blessings!
