The best way to farm Mythril Shards is to equip the Lucky Strike and Encounter Up abilities and go fight Pot Spiders in Agrabah’s Bazaar area.

This little zone connects to the Plaza from a hidden little side path, and it has about 10 Pot Spiders in it.


Even with a 1% drop chance, the speed of which you’ll be dispatching these ceramic creepies will get you Mythril Shards in large amounts in no time.

Pot Spiders and Barrel Spiders

These not-at-all terrifying heartless can be found primarily in Agrabah.

As the name suggests, they are spiders that inhabit (or are made from?) pots and barrels. They drop Mythril Shards, but their rate is a mere 1% (with three Lucky Strikes that goes up to a whopping 3%).

Still, the heartless are easy to defeat.

Raw strength is all you need.

Use a long keyblade like Metal Chocobo and the big swing of the Vortex ability and you can clean house like nobody’s business (but your own). Thunder magic also works great!

Bambi (End of the World)

Summon Bambi in one of the World Terminus areas in the final dungeon to have a shot at a Mythril Shard.

You can pick any one that works best for you, but the Wonderland and Deep Jungle areas have the highest concentration of heartless, thus making it quick and easy to clean up and fill his Charge Bars.

Roll in with an Aero shield and get busy using Thunder magic.

Powerful, long keyblades work too with abilities such as Vortex and Ars Arcanum–anything to clear the chaff.

Filling the bar twice gets you a 40% chance at a Shard and three times earns you a 60%.

Remember, you only need 12 Mythril Shards to make one of everything that requires them.

In the grand scheme of things, that’s not a lot.

The goods you can make with them aren’t mind-blowing, but are key to unlocking and making that other actually mind-blowing stuff.
