The Heroes Wake

Sora, Donald, and Goofy wake inside the “Pod Room”. After a brief scene, the gang heads outside the mansion. Head off into town and make your way to the “Usual Spot”, where you’ll find Hayner and the gang. Pence tells you that a guy with ‘really big ears’ was looking for you. Assuming it’s the King, the trio heads out for the “Station Plaza”. Upon arriving, the gang is ambushed by a hoard of Nobodies.

Event: Defeat all the Nobodies

Sora and friends are ambushed by wave after wave of Dusks and Creepers. Take out as many as you can, but you’ll never be able to take them all out. There are a lot more Creepers than there are Dusks, which can be problematic, since Creepers are very slippery creatures. They can morph into a number of forms to attack and dodge, so adjust your battle plan according to how they are fighting. Donald and Goofy will help you out a lot in this battle, and your characters may also grow a few levels from taking out all of those Nobodies!

This battle will end if one of the following conditions is met:
1. The battle lasts more than 1 Minute 30 Seconds.
2. Sora’s HP falls below 30%.

The King shows up before long to take out the rest of the Nobodies and save Sora, Donald, and Goofy. He’ll hand over the Munny Pouch, the Crystal Orb, and Secret Ansem’s Report 2.

A Perilous Ascent

Head inside the train station and talk to Donald to board the train. It will take you to a mysterious tower where a strange character is waiting at the front door. Donald and Goofy recognize him as Pete, a troublemaker who seems to have allied himself with the Heartless. He summons a few waves of Shadows to teach you a lesson, but it’s time to teach them a lesson of your own.

Event: Defeat all the Shadows

If you’ve played any other installments of the KINGDOM HEARTS series, than these shadowy bug-eyed creatures should be extremely familiar to you. The Shadows are not very threatening, but they do have the annoying ability to sink into the ground, making them temporarily invulnerable to any kind of attack. They attack in swarms and fight with claw swipes and lunging attacks, but they’re no match for the Keyblade!

After defeating the Shadows, the gang runs into the tower. Climb the spiral staircase, taking out any Heartless that show up until you reach the “Star Chamber”. Another group of Heartless awaits you.

Event: Defeat all the Shadows

Take out all of the Shadows that appear in the “Star Chamber”. There are a few more of them during this fight, so don’t get too cocky when you’re battling them. While it works best if you focus on one at a time, you can’t really just ignore the rest. They’ll sneak up behind you and deal damage, though nothing too significant.

Continue your ascent up to the “Moon Chamber”, where a new type of Heartless joins the battle.

Event: Defeat all the Heartless

The Soldiers should also be familiar to anyone who has played other KINGDOM HEARTS games. They attack with long-distant lunges and spinning kicks. They also have Reaction Command called Cyclone, which allows you to swing around them as they charge and bash them in the back, knocking them down and dealing some pretty good damage. Use this Reaction Command whenever the prompt appears above your Command Menu in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

Continue your climb, taking out the Shadows and Soldiers that appear until you reach the “Sorcerer’s Loft”. Master Yen Sid waits inside. Speak to him a few times to get the gist of what you’ll be up against for the duration of your new journey. After the conversation, head into the “Wardrobe” where the three good fairies will give you a new outfit, the Valor Form Drive, and the Starseeker Keyblade. Return to the “Sorcerer’s Loft” and speak with Yen Sid again, who has one more, rather familiar gift for Sora, Donald, and Goofy.
