Olympus Coliseum Tournaments

As you progress through the game, you can unlock new challenges at the Olympus Coliseum Underdrome. At any time during the game, you can return to the Underworld and talk to Panic to see if there are new challenges available.

For the purposes of this walkthrough, we’ve included the rules for each tournament as well as strategies for rounds that include more challenging enemies. The rest of the rounds are filled with standard enemies, so you should be able to handle them using the strategies you’ve developed throughout the course of the game.

The Pain & Panic Cup (Recommended LV 20)

The rules for the Pain & Panic Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights with Donald and Goofy in the Party.
  • The Drive Guage is unavailable, meaning no Drive Forms or Summons.
  • Limit Commands cost less MP than usual.

Round 10: Leon & Yuffie

HP: 357 (Leon), 255 (Yuffie)
STR: 21 (Leon & Yuffie)
DEF: 11 (Leon & Yuffie)

For this battle, you should rely heavily on your Limit Commands, especially since you can use more than one of them without depleting your MP Gauge. Lock on to one of them at a time and unleash a barrage of Limit Commands on them. By the time your MP Gauge is depleted, at least one of them should be defeated. You can unload a Berserk Charge on the other one if your MP Gauge is empty, or you can avoid them until your MP returns. Just note that if you are in Berserk Charge, you cannot defeat a Boss enemy without a combo finisher.

Victory in the Pain & Panic Cup earns you a Lucky Ring and a Serenity Stone.

The Cerberus Cup (Recommended LV 28)

The rules for the Cerberus Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights alone.
  • Drive Forms can be used without other Party Members.
  • Summons cannot be used.
  • Drive Gauge refills exceptionally fast.
  • The tournament is timed.

Round 10: Cerberus

HP: 960          STR: 27          DEF: 11

Cerberus is more or less the same fight as when you fought him before, but you’ve got the power of turbo-charged Drive Forms on your side this time! Choose any Drive Form you like and lay into Cerberus hard, giving him no room to budge. Remember that Cerberus likes to jump clear across the room and can retaliate with a quick spinning attack. Also remember that you can use the Evade Reaction Command when prompted, followed by the Jump! Reaction Command and the Dog Paddle Reaction Command, to knock Cerberus unconscious for a short time.

The bigger challenge here is the time limit. With the use of Drive Forms or Sora’s solo Trinity Limit Limit Command, you should have no trouble defeating Cerberus again.

Victory in the Cerberus Cup earns you the Rising Dragon for Donald and a Protect Belt.

The Titan Cup (Recommended LV 41)

The rules for the Titan Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights alone.
  • Sora may only be hit 500 times, as indicated by the Damage-Point Gauge.
  • Sora cannot use Drive Forms by himself.
  • Summons may be used without other Party Members.
  • The Drive Gauge is fully restored at the beginning of each round.

Round 10: Hercules

HP: 1290          STR: 39          DEF: 22

Hercules biggest weakness is his own ego. Whenever the champ stops to admire his own muscles, move in to pound some sense into him. You’re still under the restraints of the Damage-Point Gauge, so you don’t just want to charge in swinging your Keyblade. Hercules’ punches may only reduce your Damage-Point Gauge by 1 per hit, but they can really hurt! Jump during your approaches to swing down from the air and unleash a combo or two before running away again.

Hercules has a very impressive range for relying strictly on melee attacks. His punches can still sometimes reach you even though he seems to be plenty far away. Do not get careless in this fight; even if your HP Gauge is fine, taking too many reckless blows could deplete your Damage-Point Gauge and cost you the tournament. As always, you can use Sora’s solo Trinity Limit Limit Command to deal some significant damage while avoiding taking any of your own.

Victory in the Titan Cup earns you the Genji Shield for Goofy and a Skillful Ring.

The Goddess of Fate Cup (Recommended LV 53)

The rules for the Goddess of Fate Cup are as follows:

  • Round 1: Normal Rules
  • Round 2: Cerberus Cup Rules (1 Minute Time Limit)
  • Round 3: Titan Cup Rules (50 Hit Damage-Point Limit)
  • Round 4: Normal Rules
  • Round 5: Normal Rules
  • Round 6: Cerberus Cup Rules (30 Second Time Limit)
  • Round 7: Titan Cup Rules (50 Hit Damage-Point Limit)
  • Round 8: Cerberus Cup Rules (30 Second Time Limit)
  • Round 9: Cerberus Cup Rules (Darkened Arena)
  • Round 10: Normal Rules

Round 10: Hades

HP: 1575          STR: 48          DEF: 28

Hades has gotten stronger since you’ve last fought him, but so have you. His strategy is identical to when you battled him during the second visit to Olympus Coliseum, except you don’t have Hercules with you. This is not a problem however, as Hades doesn’t ever enter his berserk mode during this fight.

Hades has summoned a few Hammerframes as backup in this battle. You can either fight them directly, or just let Donald and Goofy take care of them while you focus on Hades. As always, Limit Commands are perfect for dealing lots of damage while taking none of your own, so use them to your advantage. Just remember that Hades likes to warp around a lot, even when taking damage, so use the lock-on feature to track his movements. You don’t want to unleash a powerful attack only to have it complete miss!

Victory in the Goddess of Fate Cup earns you the Fatal Crest Keyblade and another Orichalcum +.

Paradox Tournaments

Once you’ve completed a tournament, you can travel down to “Hades’ Chamber” and speak with the Lord of the Dead himself to compete in the Paradox Level Tournaments. These tournaments are literally just harder versions of the ones you’ve competed in before.

For the purposes of this walkthrough, we’ve included the rules for each tournament as well as strategies for rounds that include more challenging enemies. The rest of the rounds are filled with standard enemies, so you should be able to handle them using the strategies you’ve developed throughout the course of the game.

The Pain & Panic Paradox Cup (Recommended LV 60)

The rules for the Pain & Panic Paradox Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights with Donald and Goofy in the Party.
  • The Drive Guage is unavailable, meaning no Drive Forms or Summons.
  • Limit Commands cost less MP than usual.

Round 10: Leon & Yuffie

HP: 819 (Leon), 585 (Yuffie)
STR: 54 (Leon & Yuffie)
DEF: 31 (Leon & Yuffie)

Leon and Yuffie have gotten a lot tougher and to make matters worse, they no longer sit still as much to take hits. You’ll need to be a little more strategic about when to strike and when to run. As always, use your Limit Commands to easily take down large portions of their HP without getting hurt. The tournament rules allow you to use multiple Limit Commands before depleting the MP Gauge, so use them as much as you need.

The Cerberus Paradox Cup (Recommended LV 70)

The rules for the Cerberus Paradox Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights alone.
  • Drive Forms can be used without other Party Members.
  • Summons cannot be used.
  • Drive Gauge refills exceptionally fast.
  • The tournament is timed.

Round 10: Cerberus

HP: 1995          STR: 62          DEF: 36

Once again, you should rely heavily on the boosted strength and speed provided by your Drive Forms to take down Cerberus’s impressive HP. Like your last encounter, this battle is timed, but you should have more than enough time to take the dog down. This time around, the arena is dark however, so you may have a slightly more difficult time locating Cerberus after he makes one of his long-ranged jumps.

The Titan Paradox Cup (Recommended LV 80)

The rules for the Titan Paradox Cup are as follows:

  • Sora fights alone.
  • Sora may only be hit 500 times, as indicated by the Damage-Point Gauge.
  • Sora cannot use Drive Forms by himself.
  • Summons may be used without other Party Members.
  • The Drive Gauge is fully restored at the beginning of each round.

Round 10: Hercules

HP: 2250          STR: 70          DEF: 41

Much like before, keep your distance from Hercules for the majority of the fight. You don’t want to get cocky while unleashing combos; Hercules can bounce back at any moment and lay a devastating blow that will not only deplete your Damage-Point Gauge, but your HP as well! Look for openings when the champ stops to show off and use Sora’s solo Trinity Limit Limit Command to deal lots of damage without taking any.

Watch out for all of the falling rocks during this fight. They don’t hurt much, but they will quickly drain your Damage-Point Gauge if you get hit by too many of them.

The Hades Paradox Cup (Recommended LV 99)

The rules for the Hades Paradox Cup are as follows:

  • Rounds 1 – 10: Normal Rules
  • Rounds 11 – 20: Titan Cup Rules (500 Hit Damage-Point Limit)
  • Rounds 21 – 30: Pain & Panic Cup Rules
  • Rounds 31 – 40: Cerberus Cup Rules (10 Minute Time Limit)
  • Rounds 41 – 50: Sora fights alone (Drive Forms and Summons are unavailable)

Round 5: Volcanic Lord

HP: 2172          STR: 87          DEF: 51

The Volcanic Lord returns in this round of the Hades Paradox Cup. The strategy used to defeat it is identical to the one you used when you fought it in Agrabah. Fortunately, you don’t have the Blizzard Lord to worry about in this fight, so you can just pound the Volcanic Lord senseless.

Round 10: Tifa & Yuffie

HP: 1086 (Tifa), 905 (Yuffie)
STR: 87 (Tifa & Yuffie)
DEF: 51 (Tifa & Yuffie)

You should be used to fighting Yuffie by now since you’ve completed the Pain & Panic Cup and the Pain & Panic Paradox Cup. Tifa on the other hand is a whole new opponent whom you haven’t faced before. Her attacks are mostly close-combat melee-style punches and kicks. If you keep your distance from her and only move in close when you’re fixing to attack, you should be able to completely dodge most of her assaults.

Feel free to use Limit Commands to deal damage, but you should note that this fight still falls under Normal Rules, meaning that Limit Commands will completely deplete the MP Gauge as they usually do. Keep that in mind when you use them; you don’t want to end up with no MP if you need to suddenly heal!

Round 15: Blizzard Lord

HP: 2172          STR: 87          DEF: 51

Much like the Volcanic Lord back in Round 5, the Blizzard Lord has its own round for you to fight it in. Use the same strategy you used way back in Agrabah to defeat it. There’s no Volcanic Lord in this fight, so you can focus entirely on beating the Blizzard Lord with no interruptions.

Round 20: Pete

HP: 2896          STR: 87          DEF: 51

Pete is up to his usual tricks again in this fight. This fight is similar to the time you fought him during your first visit to Olympus Coliseum. Pete will employ the aid of his usual bag of cheap explosives and annoying gags to stave you off. Approaching Pete by jumping makes it easier to get near him without being hit by one of his toys. Use aerial combos to deal some damage before he brings up his shield. Keep up this pattern until he’s defeated.

Remember that this battle falls under Titan Cup Rules. You have a set number of hits marked with the Damage-Point Gauge. Pete’s explosives and bowling ball antics can really drain this gauge if you’re not careful!

Round 25: Cloud & Tifa

HP: 1448 (Cloud), 1086 (Tifa)
STR: 87 (Cloud & Tifa)
DEF: 51 (Cloud & Tifa)

You got a taste of Tifa’s abilities when you fought her with Yuffie a few rounds back. Now she’s with Cloud, a far more challenging opponent! His attacks are fast and powerful, and he can zoom around the arena, homing in on you and dealing powerful blows as he flies. Keep moving to avoid this assault.

Since this battle falls under Pain & Panic Cup Rules, you’ll have Donald and Goofy to help you in this fight, and that means you’ll also have your Limit Commands to aid you in this battle. Plus, with the bonus from the Pain & Panic Cup Rules, you’ll be able to use multiple Limit Commands before your MP Gauge depletes.

Round 30: Hades

HP: 2715          STR: 87          DEF: 51

This fight is much like when you fought him in the Goddess of Fate Cup, except now Hades has gotten significantly stronger. This battle still falls under Pain & Panic Cup Rules, so don’t be afraid to barrage Hades with a steady stream of Limit Commands to deal damage. Just remember that Hades likes to warp around a lot, so use the lock-on feature to track his movements as the fight progresses.

Round 40: Cloud & Leon

HP: 1448 (Cloud), 1267 (Leon)
STR: 87 (Cloud & Leon)
DEF: 51 (Cloud & Leon)

You’ve fought Leon and Cloud separately before, but now that they’re together, they are a true force to be reckoned with! This fight falls under Cerberus Cup Rules, so you are under a time limit. Fortunately, you also have practically unlimited Drive Forms at your disposal thanks to your rapidly-refilling Drive Gauge. Use this to your advantage and enter a Drive Form that will give you the extra strength and speed you need to take on these two mighty warriors.

Round 48: Cerberus

HP: 2715          STR: 87          DEF: 51

Fighting Cerberus in this round is a little bit different because you won’t have the added advantage of Drive Forms to aid you this time around. That said, Trinity Limit isn’t a very effective way to defeat Cerberus either, as the dog likes to jump around a lot. You’ll be unloading a full combo at one point and the next, Cerberus will be across the arena and you’ll be swinging at air. To defeat Cerberus this time, you’re going to have to do it the old fashioned way. Be sure to look for chances to use the Evade Reaction Command, followed by the Jump! Reaction Command and the Dog Paddle Reaction Command, to subdue Cerberus for a short time and land some combos while the dog is down.

Round 49: Cloud, Leon, Tifa, & Yuffie

HP: 724 (Cloud), 634 (Leon), 543 (Tifa), 453 (Yuffie)
STR: 87 (Cloud, Leon, Tifa, & Yuffie)
DEF: 51 (Cloud, Leon, Tifa, & Yuffie)

There is really only one sure-fire strategy when it comes to this fight: land a Trinity Limit Limit Command on one of them and then run like crazy until Sora’s MP Gauge recharges! Trying to isolate them one at a time is impossible because the other three will not leave you alone while you bust up the fourth. Without allies, Drive Forms, or Summons, Trinity Limit is literally your best bet in this fight, so use this hit and run strategy until they’re all down for the count.

Round 50: Hades

HP: 2715          STR: 87          DEF: 51

Hades is back for one final battle! Sora and Hercules team up to take on the Lord of the Dead for the last round of the Hades Paradox Cup, and it’s definitely a good thing that Herc is here to lend a hand. In previous fights against Hades in the tournaments, he never entered his invulnerable berserk mode, but this time, Hades isn’t joking around. Use Hercules’ Aura Sphere Reaction Commands to bash the orbs of light at Hades whenever he enters berserk mode. The impact will snap him right out of it so you can hurt him again.

Use a similar strategy to when you fought him during the second visit to Olympus Coliseum, and remember that Hades will warp all over the place. Use the lock-on feature to keep your eyes on him. Use Trinity Limit to deal some serious damage and follow up by unleashing a Berserk Charge of your own!

Victory in the Hades Paradox Cup earns you the Hades Cup Trophy.
