Mission 78 – Vanquish the Heartless Threat

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 0
Heart Points: x6.25
Munny: x18.75
EXP: x6.03

Locate Tinkerbell and she’ll restore Roxas’s ability to fly. Head over the skull island to find Hook and Smee at it again. This time, they’ve unleashed a truly nasty Heartless, which you now have to defeat.

Boss: Ruler of the Sky

HP: 1289.56          STR/DEF: 236.00

This is going to be a very long fight, so be ready for the long haul. The Ruler of the Sky will start off by flying continuously, raising columns of ice from the water behind it. Follow it, but keep slightly off to one side in order to completely avoid them.

When you reach the Ruler of the Sky, attack the last segment of its tail. At this point, the Ruler of the Sky will change strategies.

It will begin flying back and forth in an attempt to ram Roxas, so descend using the B Button or ascend using the Y Button to have the Ruler of the Sky pass right under or above you. Don’t get too close to the water though, or the Ruler of the Sky will unleash a flurry of homing ice orbs, which can deal some serious damage and are very difficult to dodge.

The Ruler of the Sky will eventually plunge into the ocean. Fly close to the water and use the Lock-On feature to locate it when it surfaces. Eventually, the Ruler of the Sky will take back to the skies, firing coins from the treasure chest in its mouth. The good news is, if you get hit, Roxas will collect Munny. The bad news is, if you get hit, you’ll take damage.

Fly just above the water and position yourself directly below the Ruler of the Sky while it’s firing coins. Use the Y Button to ascend in a straight line until you’re right underneath it, then attack its tail until it flies away. The Ruler of the Sky can’t hit you while you’re beneath him, as his coins fire at an angle, which should leave you with ample time to destroy the tail segment.

The Ruler of the Sky will resume flying in circles when you destroy a tail segment, thus starting the pattern all over again. Repeat this sequence three times (once for each tail segment) until the Ruler of the Sky is down for good.

Mission 79 – Eliminate the Giant Heartless

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 4
Heart Points: x6.25
Munny: x18.75
EXP: x6.03

Upon entering the “Halloween Town Square”, Heartless seal the area. You must defeat them all in order to lower the barrier and proceed to the “Graveyard”. Xigbar joins you once you enter the “Graveyard”.

Head through the “Boneyard 1” area, defeating more Heartless as you go. Proceed to the “Moonlight Hill” and defeat more Heartless. Head into the “Suspension Bridge” area to encounter your target.

Boss: Chill Ripper

HP: 2240.00          STR/DEF: 213.60

The Chill Ripper attacks like any other blade-wielding enemy you’ve faced so far. As you may have guessed from its name, it attacks with ice abilities, which means, as you also may have guessed, it is heavily vulnerable to Fire spells.

The Chill Ripper can summon giant pillars of ice that burst up out of the ground. Use the Dodge Roll Ability to avoid this attack.

Wait for openings in the Chill Ripper’s assault, then strike with several combos before it goes back on the offensive.

Mission 80 – Break the Jars

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 0
Heart Points: x6.25
Munny: x18.75
EXP: x6.03

Similar to the jar-breaking Missions you’ve completed in The World That Never Was, your task here is pretty simple. If you break all the jars and you’re still missing one toward the end, there is a jar on top of the awning above the door to the “Secret Passage”.

The only time this Mission gets difficult is if you happen to break a jar containing the deadly Living Pod Heartless. This Heartless can deal devastating amounts of damage insanely quickly, simply by hovering above you. If you release one while breaking jars, you’ll need to keep moving. Fortunately, the Living Pods are pretty slow, though if they catch you, they will latch on and stay there until your HP hits zero (which won’t take too long at all).

Mission 81 – Eliminate the Emerald Serenade

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 6
Heart Points: x6.25
Munny: x18.75
EXP: x6.03

You’ll need to make your way through the “Red Rose Hedge Maze 1” area and into the “Red Rose Hedge Maze 2”. This is where you’ll find the Emerald Serenade, roaming along its designated path. Position yourself somewhere along the path and wait for the Emerald Serenade to come right to you. Freeze it with a Blizzard spell, then quickly follow up with a Fire spell to deal maximum damage. Repeat this strategy until the Emerald Serenade is defeated.

Mission 82 – Eliminate the Spiked Crawler

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 8
Heart Points: x6.30
Munny: x18.90
EXP: x6.83

Since Roxas is feeling a little under the weather, his Level has been halved for this Mission. This means that defeating all of the high-leveled enemies in this Mission will be very difficult. Fortunately, Xion is on the job with you, and she’ll be able to do most of the fighting.

Make your way to the “Cave/Entrance Hall”, where the hole in the side of the wall is finally open. Enter the “Cave/Secret Depths” through there, and be ready to do some puzzle solving. You’ll find a golden elephant statue when you first enter. Strike it with your Keyblade to drop down to the lower level. Locate the three special crates and push them onto the square pads on the floor. This opens the door to the “Cave/Lamp Chamber”.

You should grab all of the Treasure Chests in the “Cave/Lamp Chamber” before approaching this keyhole at the back of the room. If you manage to open all eight Treasure Chests in this Mission, you’ll be able to unlock Mission 84 when you speak to Luxord in the “Grey Area”. When you’re ready, walk up to the keyhole to encounter your target.

Boss: Spiked Crawler

HP: 932.80          STR/DEF: 249.00

The Spiked Crawler attacks identically to the Morning Star you fought way back in Mission 41. The biggest thing working against you here is Roxas’s handicapped strength. Fortunately, Xion is still at full strength for this fight, so she’ll be able to deal most of the damage.

You can also use the Block Ability when the Spiked Crawler is doing it one of its spinning advances. This will daze the Spiked Crawler, rendering him motionless for a short while. Diminished strength or not, you can unleash a couple combos while it’s down to deal damage of your own.

This is a timed battle, so when the time limit is up, Xion will automatically step in and finish the Spiked Crawler off for good.

Mission 83 – Search for Xaldin

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 8
Heart Points: x6.60
Munny: x19.80
EXP: x7.83

Upon arriving, make your way into the “Ballroom” by traveling through the “Entrance Hall Upper Level”. Here, you’ll find Belle talking about the Beast. Next, head all the way up to “The East Wing”, defeating Heartless along the way. Cogsworth and Lumiere are discussing the recent events that have been happening in the castle. Return down to the “Entrance Hall” and across to “The West Hall”.

From here, you have two options. You can either head straight into “The West Wing” through the doorway up the stairs. Or you can head into the “Undercroft” area first and loop back around through the “Secret Passage” before proceeding to “The West Wing”.

If you choose to go through the “Undercroft”, be prepared to fight a Blitz Spear, another blade-wielding Heartless that is incredibly vulnerable to Fire spells. Fight it using the same strategies you’ve used in the past, and be ready to block when it unleashes its charged-up slash attack. This will leave it dazed for a while, so follow up with some high-powered Fire Magic to deal maximum damage.

You don’t have to fight the Blitz Spear at all in this Mission, though there is a Treasure Chest to collect in the “Undercroft” area. Regardless, make your way to “The West Wing” and head to the end of the hall. Defeat the Bully Dogs that appear with some more Fire magic, then examine the door at the end of the hall for another clue about Xaldin’s whereabouts.

Finally, return all the way back to the “Courtyard” area to find Xaldin near the Dark Corridor. Talk to him for a bit, then RTC.

Mission 84 – Eliminate the Scorching Sphere

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 1
Heart Points: x6.60
Munny: x19.80
EXP: x7.83

This is a pretty straight shot. Head right into “The Coliseum” and defeat your target!

Boss: Scorching Sphere

HP: 774.00          STR/DEF: 243.6

Another fight just like the Morning Star and the Spiked Crawler, the Scorching Sphere must also be blocked before you can attack. The difference this time around is that the Scorching Sphere likes to drop little mines everywhere as it spins, which will hurt a lot and deal Fire damage.

Since this is a Fire-themed Heartless, naturally, it is highly weak against Blizzard spells, so use those to deal massive damage, especially while it’s stunned after you block its spinning attack.

You can also use the nearby barrels to interrupt its spinning attack and cause to it to remain motionless for a short time. Use this to your advantage during the right. Keep locked on to ensure that barrels you attack will be launched toward the Scorching Sphere.

Mission 85 – Collect Hearts

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 4
Heart Points: x6.60
Munny: x19.80
EXP: x7.83

After all the bosses you’ve had to fight in recent Missions, heart collection should be a breeze. Make your way through every area in Wonderland, defeating every Heartless you can find. There’s a Novashadow in the “Hedge Maze Entrance”, which can be easily dispatched with some Aero spells. Once you’ve collected 596 Heart Points, the Mission Gauge will fill to the goal line. Head into the “Lotus Forest” and defeat more Heartless to gain a few more, but the real prize is in the “Tea Party Garden”. Clear out all of the Heartless in the room to make a Lurk Lizard appear. Defeating it will surely give the remaining Heart Points you need to fill the Mission Gauge 100%.

Mission 86 – Collect Organization Emblems

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 1
Heart Points: x6.60
Munny: x19.80
EXP: x7.83

This Mission should be easy enough, especially since you can fly. To make it even simpler, all of the Organization Emblems are practically right next to each other. If the green rings around them disappear, fly close to one of the small islands to locate some Heartless. Defeat them and the rings will reappear.

Watch your back on this Mission though. A Phantomtail will be following close behind you the entire time. Try to ignore it and focus on your objective.

Mission 87 – Eliminate the Windstorms

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 5
Heart Points: x6.60
Munny: x19.80
EXP: x7.83

Head straight into the “Halloween Town Square” to locate your targets.

Boss: Windstorms

HP: 1462.00 (each)          STR/DEF: 165.48 (each)

The Windstorms behave and attack exactly like all other flyers you’ve fought before, so by now, you should have a pretty good idea of how to take them down. There are three of them here, and of course, they’re not just going to let you take them down one by one. You’ll be fighting all three at the same time, so keep moving and don’t stay focused on one for too long.

The Windstorms will use wind-based attacks, as you might have guessed, so watch out for the whirlwinds they summon. These can leave you Air-Tossed, so be prepared to recover quickly when you land on the ground again.

Thunder spells work especially well against the Windstorms, stunning them and dropping them to the ground so you can dish out a few combos and deal significant damage.

Defeating the three Windstorms gets you 100% Completion for this Mission. However, there are Treasure Chests in the “Graveyard”, as well as the Ordeal Blazon. Watch out though! There is an extremely powerful Invisible in this area though, and there’s a good chance that you won’t be able to defeat it at your current level. You may want to consider returning later when you are higher-leveled.

Mission 88 – Eliminate the Giant Heartless

Rank: Master
Treasure Chests: 1
Heart Points: x6.61
Munny: x19.83
EXP: x9.03

Leave the “Halloween Town Entrance” and head straight for the “Graveyard”. Your target is there … sort of.

Boss: Orcus

HP: 1129.31          STR/DEF: 147.9

The Orcus is a slightly weaker version of the Invisible that you may or may not have fought in the previous Mission, but it uses the exact same attack patterns. Despite the Orcus’s overwhelming size and relentless attacks, this should not be a very difficult fight.

Watch for the Orcus to throw its sword, as it will vanish shortly after. Use the Dodge Roll Ability repeatedly to avoid the sword as it swings at you on its own. The Orcus will create a shockwave when it reappears, so be ready to dodge that as well.

Right when it reappears, attack it to daze it, leaving it open for a few combos. Move away when it wakes back up to avoid the lightning strikes it summons. Repeat this pattern until its first two HP Bars are depleted. The battle ends automatically in a rather unexpected way.
