Everything We Know About Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX!!!
Hello everybody! I know we’ve kind of been neglecting all of the Kingdom Hearts news this summer, but I assure you, there is a reason for that. We’ve been working behind the scenes on ideas to make Destiny Islands the GREATEST source for Kingdom Hearts content on the internet, and we’ll be putting that ball into motion soon in the upcoming months! Thank you all so much for your patience and support!
Anyway, I digress. We wanted to make a super post about every bit of news that’s been released over the last few months! Scans, screenshots, trailers; EVERYTHING! So without further ado, here’s everything we know about Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX!
The General Stuff
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX (KH 2.5) has been slated for an October 2nd release in Japan, with international releases in North America and parts of Europe on December 2nd and 5th, respectively. The box art (which is absolutely gorgeous) has been released as well, and will be the same in all regions.
As most of us already know right now, KH 2.5 will feature fully-playable versions of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Birth by Sleep Final Mix (now in English for the first time), as well as cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded done through Theater Mode (much like 358/2 Days was in the first HD Collection). Re:Coded is said to have new content exclusively available through KH 2.5, as the original game did not have all that many cutscenes.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is already available for pre-order at many different locations, including the Square-Enix Store, Amazon, Gamestop, and more. You can buy the standard edition, or if you live in Japan, you can spring for the ultimate Collector’s Edition, which comes with KH 1.5, KH 2.5, and a 3-disc soundtrack and various reorchestrated tracks from the two games!
Fans who pre-order this collection will also be getting their hands on a custom PS3 Theme available for Japanese Playstation 3s.
If you don’t live in Japan (or don’t feel like importing), you can always get the North American Limited Edition set, which comes with KH 2.5 and a collectable Kingdom Hearts pin featuring Sora and King Mickey. This pin is part of the Disney Pin Collection, and can be traded at Disney Parks across the country.
A custom PS3 Theme will be made available to North American gamers as well, though details on that have still not been revealed.
KH 2.5 has been making many public appearances over the last few months, including E3 2014, Japan Expo 2014, Gamescom 2014, and San Diego ComicCon 2014. All of these events featured new trailers, screenshots, announcements, or even playable demos (or any combination).
It’s also set to appear at the EB Expo in Australia in the form a playable demo. Rumor has it, it will also be appearing at Tokyo Game Show in Japan this year as well.
KH 2.5 has also been featured in several different magazines over the summer, and we’ve collected a few scans for you, courtesy of our friends at KH13.com and KH Insider. You can click on the images below to enlarge the scan (if a larger version is available).
