KH HD Released in Japan!

Though it has technically already been March 14th in Japan now for several hours, the day has finally come and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX has been released! I’m sure many Japanese fans have already begun replaying through these classic Kingdom Hearts titles in glorious HD, and I’m sure many are just now experiencing the magic of the series for the first time. Personally I’m excited for the Japanese release, because this means we are just one step closer to the international release this Fall!

Interestingly enough, according to our good friends at KH Ultimania, there are hints of a potential Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX in the works. Supposedly, during the ending credits to one of the games (presumably Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix), there are scenes from Birth by Sleep and Re:Coded that play in the background. With Tetsuya Nomura already having tossed around the idea of a Kingdom Hearts II HD remake, albeit somewhat jokingly, there is the possibility that we’ll also be seeing an HD Collection for Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +, Birth by Sleep, and Re:Coded sometime in the near future. None of this has been confirmed, but we’ll keep you updated on any news as it’s released.

In the meantime, enjoy your new Kingdom Hearts Collection, Japanese gamers!
