KH 3D Countdown Celebration – Week 8

Here we are everyone, with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance literally just 4 days from being released in North America! For those of you that didn’t know, yesterday, June 26, 2012, marked the Australian release of the game, meaning that North America is officially the last region to receive Dream Drop Distance.

But to further hype up the release, we’ve got a bunch of new stuff for you to check out! First, uploaded by our good friend Wynters60, we’ve got the official North American Launch Promo released by Square-Enix just last week. You can check that out below:

Next up we have the official unboxing of the Mark of Mastery Collector’s Edition Box that was available for pre-order at Game Stop and Amazon. You can check out all of the goodies inside this special edition collectors’ item, courtesy of SQEXMembersNA.

And if all that wasn’t enough to get your inner fangirls excited, we’ve got reviews from some of the top gaming authorities in the world, and they’re all raving about KH 3D!

IGN – A fitting celebration of the franchise’s 10th anniversary, and possibly the best portable entry to date.

“Overall it’s a great new entry in the series, one befitting Sora and Riku’s return. With the excellent additions of Flowmotion combat and the Drop system, this may be the best portable entry in the series to date.”

G4TV – Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is definitely one of the best Kingdom Hearts experiences to date.

“Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance marks Sora and Riku’s first adventure on the Nintendo 3DS. Whether or not you’re a fan of Nintendo’s latest handheld console, if you love Kingdom Hearts, this is a must-have title that’s filled with fantastic gameplay, an intriguing story, and beautiful visuals.”

GameInformer – If you want to know the setup for the next big entry, you have to play this game to find out what’s in store for the conclusion of the Xehanort arc.

“While some players won’t tune into the Kingdom Hearts series again until the title includes a “III,” others keep up with the new installments no matter what. Dream Drop Distance is one of those titles that reaffirms your faith in Kingdom Hearts (like Birth by Sleep) rather feeling like an obligation (like Re:coded). If you’ve passed up other non-numbered entries, this game provides an extensive journal brimming with plot summaries and character info.”

Tomorrow, Saturday July 28th, there is a special KH 3D North American Launch Party at the Nintendo World Store in New York City! Fans can show up anywhere from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rockefeller Center to participate in the event. There will be playable KH 3D demos, a Kingdom Hearts Photo Booth, and an opportunity to write to the Kingdom Hearts Development Team at Square-Enix and give them some feedback about the games and what you’d like to see in the future of the franchise! Fans who attend can also purchase limited supplies of the Mark of Mastery Collector’s Box and the regular release of the game a full 3 days before the rest of the country – not to mention the free mystery gift that all attendees will receive for coming!

Okay, I think my work here is done. I’m pretty sure all of that is officially enough to make even the most reserved Kingdom Hearts player jump for joy! I know that I will personally be picking up my Mark of Mastery pre-order at Game Stop when Tuesday rolls around. And with the game finally out, you can look forward to all kinds of new KH 3D content right here on Destiny Islands!
