Dream Drop Distance Original Cover Artwork
With the release of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance only days away in Japan, there has certainly been a boost in news related to the game. In a recent interview, series creator Tetsuya Nomura stated that the cover artwork shown on the official packing was not the first design he had come up with for the game.
The first rendition was said to be more centered on Mickey rather than Sora or Riku, but was soon scrapped when it became difficult to arrange the artwork in such a way that a game box could be created.
Thanks to some new scans from Famitsu Weekly Magazine, we can now see how different this first concept was – and why it was soon scrapped for the artwork we have already come to know.
