Tokyo Game Show 2011!!!
Tokyo Game Show, also known as TGS, is an annual video game expo/convention held in Chiba, Japan. Normally, it spans for four days during mid September. TGS focuses on the Japanese Market rather than International. The remaining two days of the convention are open towards the public and popular websites/blogs such as IGN, Gamespot, 1UP, Kotaku ,and much more are permitted media coverage. This year, the expo will be held from September 15 – September 18, and Square-Enix already has an impressive line-up in store!
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance will be a playable demo at TGS. The game’s progression is about 40-50% complete. Tetsuya Nomura, the creator of Kingdom Hearts, has stated he would like to release the game by early 2012. Dream Drop Distance is believed to be on par with that of a console game. The game will be the flashiest among the other Kingdom Hearts titles. On another note, HD Tests were confirmed for the series.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will not be at TGS. Although Versus XIII won’t get it’s spotlight at TGS, a date has been set for it’s next showing. The game is said to have Kingdom Hearts’s battle system and third person shooter. Real-Time Events are actions executed during cut-scenes and a Real-Time lighting system was added for a day and night cycle.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will have a playable demo at TGS. Active Time Battle System, Cinematic Action, Feral Link and Paradigm Shift System are the types of combat mechanism used in gameplay. The main character is Noel, and he is a time traveler. In his future, Noel is the only remaining human.
Final Fantasy Type-0
Final Fantasy Type-0, also known as Final Fantasy Agito XIII, will have a playable version at TGS. The name was changed because the Latin word “Agito”, to put into motion, had little meaning in the game. The gameplay will be similar to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Their will be fourteen selective characters who are members of Class Zero, and the members are named after trump playing cards. The game will also have it’s own manga.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a game created for Final Fantasy’s 25th anniversary, and it will be featured as a playable demo at TGS. The title is a type of rhythm game and the players can select from titles of Final Fantasy I through XIII. The main characters are available in a four party system;the gameplay differs between titles; and major songs are featured such as One Winged Angel.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Volume 2 was displayed after the secret cut-scene of Birth by Sleep Final Mix. Will it’s development finally be announced at TGS?!
